The Issue with Common Personal Finance Experts (and the 10% Rule)

Recently, I attended an interview for another role within my current employer and was surprised when the interviewer, aware of my financial writing background, ended his round with this phrase:

“What do you think about Dave Ramsey?”

As soon as he asked me that question, my mind raced with ideas on what might be an appropriate answer in seconds:

“Is He A Dave Ramsey Fan?”

Dave made changes that helped transform his life for the better, but can he say whether or not these have had an effect?

Have they read my Dave Ramsey Baby Steps improvements article or any of my past thoughts about Dave?”

“Will Dave take offense if I fail to praise him?”
