Umbrella Insurance: The Policy You Need but Likely Don’t Have

Umbrella insurance may not be top of mind for most people like other types of coverage are; I rarely hear anyone mention it (certainly not our trusted personal finance gurus!). Up until approximately a year ago, I knew nothing of its existence either – in fact it can be rather dull (as are most good things in personal finance!).

Since my recent shift in how I view insurance policies, I now view umbrella insurance policies as essential forms of coverage that should be purchased by all. Although often underutilized as an option, so… here is an umbrella insurance basics post to give you something to think about and see if this type of policy might suit you!
